Hi, I’m Kayla — the designer, maker and heart behind this little business. I’m married to Rob, our quiet achiever and hands-on fixer-of-everything who keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes. Together, we’re raising two beautiful little girls who bring joy, chaos, and constant inspiration to our lives (and, let’s be honest, to a lot of my designs too!).
Our workshop is based in Pakenham, in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, where the smell of cut timber and the hum of our laser machine fill the air most days. My background might be in accounting, but it was during maternity leave that I followed my creative itch and launched my first business — a craft supply store (a totally justifiable excuse to feed my expensive hobby). That side hustle soon led to buying my first laser machine to make blanks for others… but it quickly became something more. I fell in love with the process of creating, and when we purchased our first UV printer, I couldn’t wait to start designing and making keepsakes for my girls, our family, and friends.
When I had the opportunity to purchase JiMi Keepsakes, it felt like the perfect home for everything I wanted to create — a space where passion meets purpose, and where I could design meaningful, lasting keepsakes that connect families just like mine.
JiMi Keepsakes began with a beautiful story — one rooted in love. The original founders Stef and Daniel created the business and named it JiMi Keepsakes to honour their sons: the capital J representing their firstborn boy, and the M representing their second son, a sleeping angel remembered every day. In time, their family grew to welcome two more boys, making them a beautiful family of five.
We’re honoured to carry on the JiMi name and the heartfelt purpose it was built on: to create meaningful, personalised keepsakes that celebrate life’s most treasured moments.
